Bukwang Pharmaceutical announced on the 3rd that it has launched a marketing campaign highlighting the price competitiveness of its over-the-counter (OTC) fever and pain reliever Tacenol (acetaminophen) compared to Tylenol.
Tacenol is a single-ingredient acetaminophen analgesic and antipyretic manufactured in South Korea. The OTC medication is indicated for the temporary relief of fever and pain associated with the common cold, as well as headaches, toothaches, menstrual pain, muscle aches, and other minor pain symptoms.
Prices of several OTC medicines have recently increased, including acetaminophen-based products. In response, Bukwang Pharmaceutical has maintained Tacenol’s existing wholesale supply price to pharmacies and adjusted its marketing strategy to help reduce the financial burden on both pharmacies and consumers.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when acetaminophen products experienced temporary shortages, Bukwang Pharmaceutical utilized its domestic manufacturing facilities to maintain a stable supply, helping ease supply concerns among consumers and pharmacies.
“Tacenol earned consumers’ trust by ensuring a stable supply throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” a Bukwang Pharmaceutical representative said. “Bukwang Pharmaceutical operates a comprehensive quality management system covering everything from raw material procurement to manufacturing. As Tacenol is produced at the company’s domestic manufacturing facilities, we will continue to strengthen both supply stability and product quality.”
Meanwhile, Bukwang Pharmaceutical plans to further expand its nationwide pharmacy distribution network through a strategic sales partnership with SINSIN Pharmaceutical.
“Through our collaboration with SINSIN Pharmaceutical, we plan to further strengthen the Tacenol brand so that more consumers can choose domestically manufactured acetaminophen products at reasonable prices,” the company representative said. “Leveraging SINSIN Pharmaceutical’s established nationwide pharmacy network and expertise in the OTC market, we expect to further enhance Tacenol’s market competitiveness.”
